The Karnage retaliate by attacking a Ramus outpost protected by the Church of the Specter. Priestess Val and the defenders endure repeated Burn Striker assaults and waves of Hell Fire until War Born reinforcements arrive. The Karnage withdraw, but open war has begun.

Karnage warships descend on Tirath. The world calls for aid, and Corinth mercenaries answer for the right price. Sy'lix holds the defensive line until Corinth reinforcements arrive, denying the Karnage an easy conquest.

A Psiker Prophet falls under the influence of an unknown thought from beyond the void. The Prophet's Psionic Colossus and its guardians spread madness across the region. As War Born reinforcements fill the sky, the Psiker fleet retreats toward Illusuar.

The ship breaks into a protected data site, retrieves a data shard, and returns safely to Ramus. The evidence is strong enough to force the Council to confront Corinth's involvement.

In a separate convoy incident, Ramus captures merchant vessels traveling under Corinth protection. The Guild Masters offer a rich reward for their rescue. Sy'lix and a Corinth mercenary force clear the Ramus blockade and escort enough of the convoy to safety to claim the payment.

Karnage forces break through Corinth's outer defenses and begin destroying its trade routes. Corinth calls upon its Psiker allies for aid, but a Psiker faction abandons formation and joins the Karnage attack. Corinth survives the immediate assault, yet its supply network is left in ruins.

Ramus blockades Corinthian trade lanes while supplying systems willing to turn against Corinth. Debt, mercenary contracts, captured cargo, and access to vital supplies become weapons of war.

Corinth escorts clash with Ramus blockaders at Thyros Gate. Neutral systems are forced to choose between the rival powers.

1220 IY: The Burning of Corinth

The Psiker betrayal allows Commander Dredd and the Karnage fleet to push through Corinth territory. Karnage forces destroy the outer trading posts, break the City World's defenses, and set Corinth ablaze. They seize what wealth they can before withdrawing ahead of the Corinth counterattack. The City World survives, but its markets and political power are devastated.

The rival Colossus falls, but its destruction draws the attention of an extra-warpal entity.

The entity destroys what remains of Eryndra's enemy and turns toward her fleet. Its influence clouds Psiker minds and reaches through their psychic link. Eryndra's forces survive the assault long enough for the entity to withdraw, but the encounter reveals the Fleet Final's true purpose: preparation for a threat capable of consuming the known galaxy.
